Emu leather has a fine quilled texture and can be dyed in a large variety of colors. It is soft and supple, making it appropriate for lightweight leather clothing as well as accessories such as purses and belts.

Emu legskin leather makes an attractive accent. It has a distinctive reptile-like quality and is durable and long wearing.

An average emu egg is about 3½ inches in width and 5½ inches in length.  Beneath the dark green outer layer of the shell lies an aqua layer and beneath that is the white inner layer of the shell.  Emu egg carving and decorating are art forms that can produce exquisite results.

Emu feathers have a distinctive double plume from a single shaft.  In addition to accents on clothing, they are being used in dusters, fishing lures and bedding.

Polished toenails and pieces of eggshell make unique jewelry.
